A pilot project to introduce artificial intelligence into the school curriculum is being launched in Kazakhstan. The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with MIT and will cover all grades, from 1 to 12.
The first stage includes AI lessons as part of digital literacy for grades 1-4, using free interactive content from Day of AI in Kazakh and Russian. The second stage, covering grades 1-12, will be launched later with adapted materials. The Ministry of Education has been recommended to make the program mandatory.
In Kazakhstan, out of 8042 schools, more than 7900 are already connected to the internet, enabling access to digital learning.
