Meta has released an app for Mac with screen content analysis functionality.

Meta has released a desktop application called Meta AI for Apple Mac computers, which allows artificial intelligence to analyze the content of open windows, provide recommendations, and create content.

In the Meta AI application, users can grant the chatbot access to the content of a window, after which it provides recommendations, answers questions, or creates content based on the information displayed on the screen.

The introduction of this feature is Meta's attempt to make the chatbot more task-oriented for work and bring its capabilities closer to competitors that already offer separate desktop applications. Gemini allows users to send window content to the chatbot, while ChatGPT and Claude applications have additionally gained the ability to control the user's computer.

At the same time, Meta has expanded the functionality of Meta AI for businesses and content creators, adding the ability to directly work with Instagram and Facebook accounts, Meta advertising campaigns, and Google Workspace. The chatbot will be able to analyze post reach, likes, shares, and saves, and then suggest ideas for future posts.
