The export of IT services from Kazakhstan grew from $33.5 million in 2020 to $1.142 billion in 2025. The country became a net exporter: revenue exceeded imports ($429 million) by more than 2.6 times. In 2025, the export of Astana Hub participants reached $634 million, with companies operating in 110 countries. The strategic goal is to reach $5 billion by 2030.
Over the past five years, Kazakhstan's IT services exports grew from $33.5 million in 2020 to $1.142 billion by the end of 2025. Thus, within a relatively short period, IT services have transformed from an emerging sector into a significant item in the country's exports.
IT services exports demonstrated consistent growth throughout the entire period: in 2021, exports amounted to $60.07 million; in 2022, $337 million; in 2023, $529.1 million; in 2024, $690.7 million; and in 2025, they exceeded $1 billion for the first time.
At the same time, Kazakhstan emerged as a net exporter of IT services: export revenue was more than 2.6 times higher than spending on importing foreign digital solutions, which totaled $429 million.
Against this backdrop, Kazakhstan is strengthening its position among regional technology exporters. For comparison, Georgia's exports of telecommunications, computer, and information services in 2024 amounted to $842.3 million, and Armenia's were approximately $1.18 billion.
The growth in exports is accompanied by an expansion of the geographic presence of Kazakh IT companies. Today, domestic digital solutions are supplied to more than 110 countries worldwide. Exports by Astana Hub participants reached $634 million in 2025, with 537 companies conducting foreign sales, and more than 32,000 jobs created within the ecosystem.
The next stage involves scaling Kazakh technology companies and entering larger international markets. Priority directions include the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, as well as the development of international channels for promoting domestic IT solutions. The strategic goal is to increase Kazakhstan's IT services exports to $5 billion by 2030.
The key difference in Kazakhstan's dynamics is not only the scale but also the speed. Just five years ago, the country's IT services exports were measured in tens of millions of dollars, while today they have exceeded $1 billion. Kazakhstan has effectively transitioned from the category of emerging IT markets to the group of regional technology exporters.
