Mikhail Lomtadze, CEO and co-founder of Kaspi.kz, announced the launch of Kasper, a new AI assistant in Kaspi Store. The presentation took place in Almaty.
Previously, customers had to search for products using keywords, compare specifications, and read reviews among numerous options. Now, it is sufficient to describe the task in your own words — Kasper will clarify the details, select suitable products, compare them, and explain the differences in simple language. For example, you can ask the assistant to help choose a vacuum cleaner considering carpets, tiles, and a pet, or a smartphone with a good camera and a large screen.
Lomtadze noted that true innovation is not a one-time technological novelty, but a solution that becomes useful for millions of people and integrates into everyday life. The initial goal of Kaspi Store was to enable all purchases to be made in one place — today, the platform brings together 106,000 sellers and approximately 20 million products with prices, reviews, and ratings.
According to him, the question of "where to buy" has already been solved, but with the growing assortment, a new need has emerged — to help customers make confident choices without being experts in every category. This is exactly what Kasper helps with: it understands the request, asks clarifying questions, compares products, and explains complex terms in simple language.
Lomtadze called Kasper the first step toward a larger goal — making a personal AI assistant accessible to every customer, not just a select few as before. He thanked the team and company clients for their support.
Kasper communicates in Kazakh and Russian, supporting both voice and text input. The launch will begin in July in Almaty, with subsequent expansion across the entire country.
