Technological Breakthroughs and Challenges
According to the report, 2025 marks a new stage in the transformation of the labor market. GenAI, cloud technologies, automation, and cybersecurity are becoming the main drivers of change. They are creating new jobs while simultaneously transforming existing professions, altering tasks and skill requirements for workers.
However, technological progress runs parallel to other challenges: economic instability, geopolitical shifts, environmental issues, and rising societal expectations. Therefore, comprehensive preparation for the upcoming changes is crucial.
A Unique Study
The report is based on a survey of over 1,000 employers from 55 countries and 22 industry clusters, representing more than 14 million workers. This scale allows for a highly accurate understanding of which professions will be in demand in the next five years and which risk becoming obsolete.
The analysis also incorporates data and research from partners — ADP, Coursera, Indeed, and LinkedIn — making the conclusions even more comprehensive and practical.
Key Findings
— Growth of new professions: specialists in AI, cybersecurity, data analytics, and sustainability will be in highest demand
— Skills for the future: critical thinking, creativity, AI collaboration, and proficiency with digital tools will be key
— Reskilling and upskilling: employers plan to invest in employee training to prepare them for new tasks
— The role of government and education: close collaboration between business, universities, and governments is required to effectively adapt the education system.
Why This Matters
The world of work is changing faster than ever before. To maintain competitiveness, companies and professionals must timely adjust their strategies, acquire new skills, and prepare for the professions of the future.
