IT Park of Uzbekistan is expanding its startup partnership with Georgia
Uzbekistan is deepening its integration into the global startup ecosystem through new partnerships with Georgia. During the Uzbek-Georgian Business Forum in Tbilisi, IT Park Uzbekistan advanced discussions on venture capital, startup acceleration, and access to international markets, opening new opportunities for Uzbek tech companies to connect with global investors, accelerators, and innovation networks.
On July 1, 2026, the Uzbek-Georgian Business Forum took place in Tbilisi, aimed at further strengthening trade, economic, investment, and industrial cooperation between the two countries. The forum brought together government officials, representatives of financial institutions, and business leaders from Uzbekistan and Georgia, providing a platform to explore new directions for bilateral partnership.
Digital services became one of the key priorities of the forum. Given the steady growth in IT services exports in both countries, discussions focused on expanding cooperation in the fields of FinTech, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, BPO services, as well as the digitalization of trade and logistics. On the sidelines of the forum, IT Park Uzbekistan held a series of bilateral meetings dedicated to strengthening startup ecosystems, attracting venture capital, supporting the international expansion of tech companies, and deepening innovation cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia.
New opportunities for Uzbek startups
One of the key meetings took place with Irakli Kashibadze, founder and CEO of Future Laboratory, managing partner of Future Laboratory Ventures, and the first chairman of the Georgian Agency for Innovation and Technology (GITA).
Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the startup ecosystems of Uzbekistan and Georgia, as well as promoting the Land of Startups initiative among Georgian entrepreneurs and participants in acceleration programs.
Special attention was given to sharing experience in preparing startups for international market entry, including readiness for investor attraction, market entry strategies, intellectual property (IP) protection, legal support, and access to international venture capital networks.
The parties also explored opportunities to leverage Future Laboratory's experience in bringing startups to the US market, organizing joint demo days and investor meetings, and launching other initiatives aimed at strengthening ties between the venture ecosystems of Uzbekistan and Georgia.
Another area of discussion was cooperation in developing startup support infrastructure, acceleration programs, and the broader innovation ecosystem.
Expanding international partnerships
The IT Park Uzbekistan delegation also met with Nodo Ivanidze, founder and CEO of Global Tech Weekend.
The parties discussed expanding partnership following the successful holding of Global Tech Weekend in Tashkent, including the possibility of hosting Global Tech Weekend 2027 in Uzbekistan.
Additionally, they discussed integrating Uzbek startups into the international Global Tech Weekend network, expanding their connections with investors, mentors, and tech companies, and strengthening cooperation between the innovation ecosystems of Central Asia and the Caucasus.
