IT Park Uzbekistan attracts South Korean Neowiz to the local GameDev

IT Park Uzbekistan and the South Korean company Neowiz Corporation discussed the company's entry into the markets of Uzbekistan and Central Asia.

The negotiations took place during the visit of IT Park Uzbekistan's Executive Director Jahongir Rajabov to South Korea. The parties discussed the terms of Neowiz's operations in Uzbekistan, obtaining resident status at IT Park and access to tax benefits, as well as cooperation with local GameDev companies and the possibility of further expansion into the CIS markets.

Neowiz representatives stated that they view Uzbekistan in two directions — as a regional platform for working in the CIS markets and as a country with potential for attracting Russian-speaking specialists in GameDev and IT.

IT Park Uzbekistan presented opportunities for foreign technology companies, including the conditions for obtaining resident status, tax benefits, and support measures. The parties separately discussed finding local partners and video game publishers.

IT Park plans to provide Neowiz with additional information about the local GameDev market, companies, and potential areas of cooperation, as well as help establish contacts with developers and publishers. The company's representatives were also presented with the Enterprise Uzbekistan platform for exploring business opportunities in the country.

Neowiz Corporation is a South Korean company founded in 1997 and based in Songnam. It is engaged in the development and publishing of games for PCs, consoles, and mobile devices. According to IT Park Uzbekistan, the company employs around 900 people, annual revenue is approximately $320 million, and more than half of its income comes from international markets.
