IT Park Uzbekistan and Alibaba Group discussed educational programs and startups' access to Alibaba Cloud

IT Park Uzbekistan and Alibaba Group discussed the development of cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, and support for technology startups. The meeting took place within the framework of ICT WEEK Uzbekistan 2026.

Mahliyo Muksinova, Director of Strategic Development at IT Park Uzbekistan, met with Frank Ludwin Schaefer, Head of International Government Affairs at Alibaba Group.

One of the discussion topics was the potential launch of Alibaba Cloud educational programs on artificial intelligence for IT Park residents and Uzbek specialists. It is assumed that the programs may include technical workshops and preparation for professional certification.

Additionally, the parties considered the possibility of providing selected Uzbek startups with access to Alibaba Cloud resources for the development, testing, and advancement of AI solutions.

Furthermore, IT Park Uzbekistan and Alibaba Group discussed the organization of joint AI hackathons and innovation challenges involving Alibaba Cloud experts and representatives of the IT Park Uzbekistan startup ecosystem.

IT Park Uzbekistan has been cooperating with Alibaba Group since 2020. Initially, the interaction focused on e-commerce and opportunities for Uzbek companies to enter the Chinese market. In June 2025, the parties discussed expanding cooperation with Alibaba Cloud and Alibaba.com, and in July 2026, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, and digital infrastructure were added to the areas of interaction.
