About the Community
Our community is the official Kyrgyz chapter of the global organization Women in Tech. Women in Tech Global is the world’s leading organization dedicated to closing the gender gap and empowering women in technology. Headquartered in Paris, the movement spans 56 countries across six continents and unites over 485,000 members. The organization was founded in 2018 by Ayumi Mura Aoki and aims to impact 5 million women and girls in STEM by 2030, working towards achieving the seven Sustainable Development Goals.
The organization’s founder, Ayumi Mura Aoki, is a member of UNESCO’s international advisory group of experts on gender equality in science, a recognized “tech diplomat,” speaker, and innovation advisor. Her work focuses on digital inclusion and international cooperation in the field of technology.
We officially launched on February 2, 2025, at the American University of Central Asia in Bishkek. This event brought together over 1,100 participants, including government officials, diplomats, leaders of international organizations, and leading companies in the country.
The main idea and goal are to inspire, support, and unite women in the technology sector in Kyrgyzstan. We strive for empowerment, creating an inclusive community, and promoting female leadership in IT.
What are the main tasks set for your community:
- Networking: bringing together women from various technology fields to share experience and collaborate.
- Training and Mentoring: conducting trainings, workshops, and sessions on personal and professional development.
- Social and Professional Integration: organizing career and educational opportunities, arranging internships, and fostering inclusivity.
- Promotion and Representation: creating a platform for women’s voices in the tech community and shaping public discourse.

Community Members
Our target audience consists of female students, junior specialists, women professionals in IT, as well as those interested in technology and gender equality.
Most often, female students and junior specialists join us, including those studying in STEM fields. Additionally, professionals and industry leaders, such as founders of IT companies, executives, and representatives from the banking or FinTech sectors, actively participate in community events and discussions. They are also considered members of the Women in Tech Kyrgyzstan team and community. Furthermore, women and girls from vulnerable or low-income groups receive educational programs, such as participants in the Wildberries Girls in IT initiative, who acquired skills in interface design and working with Figma.
To contact us, you can send us a message on Instagram womenintech.kg and Facebook womenintech.kg.
Participation in our community is free. The main platform is global, where members can access information about training, mentoring, and job vacancies at leading companies worldwide.
Events for Community Members
Events and initiatives for community members include forums and conferences. The first major forum took place on February 2, 2025, at AUCA.
Training programs are also implemented, such as Girls in IT in collaboration with Wildberries: 30 girls completed a course on marketplace design, creating product cards in Figma, and landing pages; the best participants received internships.
Special attention is paid to mentoring and developing practical skills — we help develop soft and hard skills, creating a platform for sharing experience and broadening professional horizons.
Events are open to both our members and all interested parties — students, professionals, and partners — free of charge.

How the Community Helps with Development
We create conditions for career growth through training, mentoring, in-person meetings, opportunities to start internships and projects. Members gain access to expert experience, resources, and a community that supports their success.
Successful Projects
Some of the most notable examples of projects and collaborations include:
— Collaboration with Wildberries Kyrgyzstan in the Girls in IT program: training and internships for participants, development of e-commerce skills
— A large-scale forum: an audience of over 1,000 people, participation of government officials and international partners, creating a platform for exchange and inspiration
— Partnership with the Public Foundation “Tekayym” and providing mentoring in the international Technovation Girls initiative, which annually brings together girls aged 8 to 18 to participate in a technological entrepreneurship competition. Participants create mobile or web applications to solve social problems, with no prior programming experience required
— Cooperation with the public movement “Bizdin Ayimdary” in Kyrgyzstan, which unites women for mutual support, experience sharing, and charity. It organizes forums and meetings where funds are raised to help mothers and children from crisis centers.
— In April this year, we participated for the first time in the annual Women in Tech summit in Japan. This was an important step for our community: we were able to represent Kyrgyzstan on the world stage, exchange experience with colleagues from different countries, and learn about best global practices in promoting women in technology. The summit brought together opinion leaders, representatives of international organizations, companies, and educational institutions, allowing us to establish new partnerships and get inspired by ideas for future initiatives.

Plans
In the near future, the community plans to actively develop and expand the range of its initiatives. Plans include launching new trainings, workshops, online courses, and mentoring sessions.
At the same time, we are working on expanding our partner network, attracting corporate and educational partners, and supporting initiatives like Girls in IT. Special attention will be paid to regional development — holding events in different cities and collaborating with communities in rural areas will allow us to reach more girls and women.
This autumn, in September 2025, we will present our candidates in Almaty for the WIT Caucasus and Central Asia Awards — a regional Women in Tech award recognizing achievements of women and initiatives in technology in the Caucasus and Central Asia. The award covers science, entrepreneurship, education, leadership, and social impact, inspiring a new generation of girls to pursue careers in STEM.
For participants, this is international recognition, networking expansion, new professional opportunities, access to the global Women in Tech community, and a chance to inspire others with their example. For us, it is a chance to showcase the talents of women from Kyrgyzstan and bring them to the world stage.
