iOS 26 and Apple Intelligence: new features that will change your iPhone

At WWDC 2025, Apple introduced iOS 26 with a new artificial intelligence system, Apple Intelligence — a set of smart tools available on iPhone 15 Pro and later, iPad with M1 and later, and Mac with M1 and later.

Apple Intelligence is available on iPhone 15 Pro and later, iPad with M1 and later, and Mac with M1 and later. Other devices will receive basic interface updates but without AI features.

Apple Intelligence

— rewrites, shortens, and corrects text in Mail, Notes, Pages, and third-party apps
— reduces notifications — only important ones are visible on the lock screen
— automatically suggests relevant replies to emails and messages
— includes a "Reduce Distractions" mode — filters notifications to help you focus
— removes objects from photos and generates images from descriptions
— records and transcribes calls and audio — providing brief summaries.
— creates unique Genmoji — emojis with any emotions, styles, and accessories.

Siri Update

— new design with edge lighting on the screen
— supports text input
— understands context — suggests actions based on what's on the screen
— performs tasks in apps — for example, editing photos or creating events
— connects to ChatGPT — optionally and without compromising privacy.

Updated Design and New Apps

— interface with transparent panels, rounded icons, and floating navigation
— updated "Camera" and "Messages" — less visual clutter, more breathing room
— a separate Apple Games app has appeared — with curated collections and recommendations
— the "Health" app offers advice on sleep, nutrition, and activity.

Privacy and Security

— all data is processed on the device
— when necessary, Private Cloud Compute is used — with full encryption and no data storage
— the user decides which features and requests to allow.

Why iOS 26
Apple is unifying its OS numbering so that versions correspond to the calendar year — therefore, iOS 19 has been renamed to iOS 26.
