Gunnar Panke has become the new CEO of Bakcell

Azerbaijani telecom operator Bakcell has announced the appointment of a new CEO. Gunnar Panke, a specialist with over 35 years of international experience in the telecommunications industry, has taken on the role. Previously, he held executive positions at leading telecom companies in Azerbaijan, Germany, France, and Romania.

Panke holds a PhD in Strategic Management from the University of Poitiers, an MBA from the French university ENSPTT, and has completed leadership programs at INSEAD, Oxford, London Business School, and several other prestigious institutions.

The new appointment will accelerate the implementation of Bakcell's long-term strategic priorities in customer-centric innovations, AI, and digital services. Under Panke's leadership, the company will continue to enhance the customer experience and expand the adoption of artificial intelligence-based solutions.
