Grand Mobile launched an AI-powered radio station and accumulated nearly 500,000 listens in two weeks
Roman Linevtsev, founder of Grand Games: For Grand Mobile, this is the first collaboration with a domestic music brand. It is especially important to us that together with õzen, we are creating a new format within the game and simultaneously giving a product from Kazakhstan access to a multi-million audience. Grand Radio shows that the gaming world can be not only entertainment but also a platform for the development of the local creative industry.

Grand Games, in collaboration with the Kazakh music label and production company õzen, launched Grand Radio — an in-game AI-powered radio station within the mobile game Grand Mobile. In the first two weeks after launch, players streamed tracks approximately half a million times.
Grand Radio operates like a traditional car radio within the game world: players get into a car, select a frequency, and listen to music without leaving the game. At launch, five genre stations are available — NeedRaw FM with rap and funk, the rock station Rusty AMP, the techno wave BOONKER, the classic Maestro 88.3, and the pop station Grand Hits. Fifty tracks created using artificial intelligence through õzen’s proprietary aggregator are broadcast around the clock.

Partnering with Grand Mobile opens up a significant opportunity for us to jointly implement the best ideas within the gaming ecosystem. And this is just the beginning.
Initial data showed that NeedRaw FM was the leader, accounting for 37% of all streams. However, the audience listened not just to one main hit but to the entire station catalog: its most popular track, Redline Ritual, accounted for only 21% of the station’s streams — the lowest concentration among all stations. NeedRaw FM also demonstrated the highest repeat listening rate, averaging 2.18 plays per listener.

The rock station Rusty AMP became the most consciously chosen station and led in the number of unique listeners. The share of users who specifically selected or switched to it was higher than for other frequencies. Analytics also revealed a common effect across all stations: tracks at the top of the fixed playlist are listened to three to four times more often than those at the end. The team plans to use these insights to further develop the broadcast and recommendation system.

Grand Radio is only the first stage of our collaboration with a domestic music label. We will continue to develop this direction and closely monitor audience feedback. In the future, Grand Mobile will feature a full-fledged streaming platform that will give independent artists access to the game’s multi-million-strong audience.
