Google has turned Google Finance into an AI assistant for managing investments.
Google has taken Google Finance out of beta, adding investment portfolio tracking, regular AI-powered market summaries, and a dedicated Android app. The company announced this in its official blog on June 25.
Portfolios are rolling out globally. All investments are consolidated into a single dashboard featuring performance data and asset allocation analytics. Portfolios can be created by uploading screenshots or CSV and PDF files, or simply by describing assets in text. Once set up, an exploration tool becomes available: users can ask questions about their holdings, such as which sectors are underrepresented or how bond allocation impacts long-term growth.
The second feature is regular summaries. Users describe their request in natural language—for example, a daily pre-market overview of cryptocurrency movements—and Google Finance gathers the data in the background and delivers the summary on schedule. Notifications arrive via the Google app and appear in the web version.
The Android app provides a watchlist, real-time data, a news feed, an AI tool, and a "key moments" feature that explains price movements. The iOS version will be released later this year.
