Global Tech Weekend will be held in Uzbekistan for the first time
From May 15 to 17, Tashkent will host Global Tech Weekend for the first time—an international technological movement that brings together startup founders, investors, engineers, experts, and representatives of the innovation ecosystem.
Over the course of three days, the city will become a large-scale venue for idea exchange, networking, and discussions about the future of technology. More than 40 events will take place simultaneously across various locations—universities, accelerators, innovation centers, and cultural spaces. Thousands of tech community members and 120 international and regional speakers are expected to participate.
Global Tech Weekend is not just a conference, but a city-wide platform that unites different formats: expert sessions, panel discussions, investor meetings, entrepreneur presentations, and events for the startup community.
The event is organized in partnership with IT Park Uzbekistan and will be an important milestone for the country’s technological ecosystem. Hosting Global Tech Weekend in Tashkent highlights the growing role of Uzbekistan and Central Asia on the global innovation map.
One of the speakers at GTW Tashkent 2026 Tech Festival will be Shamil Ibragimov, Research Director at the Kuo Sharper Center for Prosperity and Entrepreneurship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has over 20 years of experience in public policy, innovation ecosystem development, entrepreneurship, and public sector transformation.
Other international speakers include:
— Maxim Paradis from France, founder and managing partner of United Founders
— Luciano Freitas from Brazil, co-founder and CEO of Aftermoon Agency.
