Freedom X completed 1,000 drone deliveries and introduced the first drone delivery
Erlan Esimseitov, Executive Director of Freedom Lifestyle Group: We completed our first thousand deliveries in eight months, and in September, we reached over 100 deliveries per day. This means we have built up our capabilities, and now the volume that the team used to accomplish in eight months can be completed in just 8-10 days. And 100 deliveries per day is not the limit. We are expanding our drone fleet, deploying drone-mats in the city, and scaling our own UTM system. Our next goal is 200 orders per day, and beyond that, we aim for 500 and even 1,000.

From January to August 2026, Freedom X completed over 1,000 deliveries, reaching a level of 100+ flights per day in September. The company introduced the first domestically developed drone station in Kazakhstan, with installation in Almaty scheduled for October. By the end of 2026, the fleet will expand to 60 drones, and drone station production will be scaled up.
From January to August 2026, the R&D division of the holding company completed over 1,000 drone deliveries, and in September, it achieved a rate of over 100 deliveries per day.
Additionally, at AI Digital Bridge Freedom X showcased a self-developed drone station — immediately after the forum, it will begin operations in Almaty.
Freedom X — the R&D division of the Freedom holding company and a pioneer in commercial drone delivery — presented at AI Digital Bridge in Astana a drone station, the first of its kind in Kazakhstan, developed in-house. The installation and launch of the drone station are scheduled for Almaty in October of this year.
First in Kazakhstan
Freedom was the first in the country to complete the entire path necessary for commercial drone delivery: it obtained a license for commercial flights, trained its own drone operators, and on January 15, 2026, began regular commercial flights delivering goods to customers. Thus, Kazakhstan joined the small group of countries where drone delivery of products operates as a regular urban service.
The project is supported by the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with which Freedom Lifestyle Group signed a memorandum on the development of drone delivery services in December 2025.
Rapid growth: from 1,000 deliveries in eight months to over 100 per day
Freedom drones deliver orders from the online supermarket Freedom Products in four districts of Almaty: near MEGA Park Shopping Center, near the Air Terminal, in the Vesnovka area, from Tole bi Street, and in the private sector near warehouses on Muratbaeva and Tauasaruuly streets. It takes 15 minutes in flight, and purchases are delivered to customers within a radius of up to 4.5 km. The drone delivers orders weighing up to 10 kg.
During the first eight months, from January to August, the service completed over 1,000 deliveries. In September, it reached a new level — more than 100 deliveries per day. And this is not the limit. In October, Freedom plans to reach a level of 150+ deliveries per day, and then increase the volume every month. Growth is driven by three factors: fleet expansion — by the end of 2026, it will include approximately 60 drones — the drone station network, and its own UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management) system for flight control.
Drone station: orders come down from the sky
The drone station was developed by the Freedom X team. It is an automated point that receives a package from a drone, stores it, and hands it over to the customer. How the order is unloaded from the drone into the Freedom drone station: the drone hovers over the station, the dome opens, and the receiving platform takes the box. Then, a lift lowers it inside, and a robotic platform transfers the order to one of eight storage cells. Next, the customer scans the QR code displayed on the drone station via the Freedom SuperApp — the robot delivers the order to the pickup port, and the door opens. The order can be picked up 24/7.
Parcels are protected from weather and unauthorized access: cameras are installed inside and outside, there is an uninterruptible power supply, position sensors for mechanisms, and protection against pinching in the door area.
This is not a prototype, but a ready-made solution. The first drone station will be transported and installed in Almaty after AI Digital Bridge. By the end of the year, Freedom plans to produce at least three drone stations and is currently scaling up production. Plans include launching drone stations in Shymkent.
The development of the current version took nine months: from December 2025, the team went through the path from concept and architecture, through prototypes of individual modules, to assembly and testing. The frame, cladding, facade, dome, and all internal mechanisms — the receiving platform, lift, robotic platform, and pickup port — were designed by the team and manufactured in Kazakhstan. Proprietary software: algorithms for controlling mechanisms, the drone station management system, and the API that connects it to the operator system and application. Only standard components are imported: motors, sensors, controllers, bearings, and drives from China, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
Engineer-roboticists work on the drone station — all graduates of Kazakh universities.
Safe sky: proprietary UTM system
For drone delivery to become widespread, not only drones are needed, but also a safe sky. The primary version of Freedom X's own UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management) system is already ready: the company uses and tests it on its own flights, with its own drones. The system monitors the air situation, coordinates flights, prevents conflicts between aircraft, and ensures digital management of low-altitude airspace. As with the drone station, the key here is intelligence: Freedom X drones and robots operate on software developed by the laboratory team.
Alexey Li, CEO of Freedom Lifestyle Group
To make drone delivery work in Kazakhstan, we had to do many things for the first time — be the first in the country to obtain a license for commercial flights, prepare the first drone operators together with the Civil Aviation Academy, and start flying orders to customers by air. Now we are bringing a self-developed drone station to the city. There are few such services in the world, and in this technology, Kazakhstan is not catching up but setting the pace. Thank you to all government agencies that have walked this path with us.
Visitors to AI Digital Bridge can see the drone station at the Freedom X booth from October 1 to 3. A year ago, at Digital Bridge 2025, Freedom X presented a concept of a drone station — this year, the company brought a ready-made solution that will be ready for operation in urban conditions immediately after the forum.
