How it all started

I have been working in the field of geology since 2005, engaging in various activities, from fieldwork to developing and implementing projects. I have participated multiple times in resource assessments and reserve calculations of deposits.

I have studied almost all software used in our market. Each of them has its own drawbacks: either in technical aspects or accessibility for specialists. 99% of modern software for specialists is "desktop." The programs are expensive, and even companies in the industry can afford only a limited number of licenses. As a result, not many specialists work on them, and these specialists also become "expensive." There was also a feeling that the created software had moved away from the fundamental foundations of our industry, following the "lead" of marketing. All this led to the thought that it was necessary to do something different. I shared this with my colleague Sabyrbek Altibaev, who thought the same. Then he introduced me to the members of the current team, we developed a plan, calculated resources, and in 2018, we began development.

The first year and a half we spent on creating a client for the database management system, working through a browser, and stabilizing the system itself. We developed universal business processes and implemented them into the software.

The first sales started in 2019. Until 2020, the team consisted only of startup co-founders — professionals in their field. Then we began to expand the staff, mainly with young talented guys who, along with us, gained experience in programming and fundamental sciences.

Target Audience

Our target audience is resource geologists who usually have problems with data obtained as a result of field activities. During mass operations, it is difficult to keep track of the quality and speed of the geological information received — it's like two sliders of adjustment: the faster, the worse, or vice versa. Especially when there are many sources of information. Thanks to our platform, you can instantly receive accurate data from any number of sources. Today, it is used in 10 different areas.

We also have the dolon.pro resource for working in a 3D environment — it is available to everyone without exception. This is a unique solution used by more than 100 regular users.

Acceleration Programs

A year ago, with the support of MOST Ventures, we received significant funding. It helped us open a portal with tools and expand the functionality of the main solution.
I would like to see conditions for state support, but they are not there yet.

Difficulties

There are many difficulties, from working on enthusiasm and the desire to help people to cash flow gaps. The advice is always the same — never stop if you believe in your cause.

Achievements

Last year, we began developing a unique algorithm for explicit modeling and made it available to users worldwide on our Dolon.pro portal.

Plans

Our plans for the current year include finishing the explicit modeling algorithm. Launching resource assessment version 3.0 based on non-block models. Starting the development of a set of functions for miners and technologists. Creating an international society of specialists. Scaling to foreign markets.
