Cursor launched Origin — a code hosting platform with support for AI agents
Cursor has begun rolling out Origin, its proprietary code hosting service designed for working with large numbers of AI agents. The platform was announced in June as an alternative to traditional Git hosting services, and it is now available in early beta to users on paid Cursor plans.
At launch, Origin supports repositories, pull requests, code viewing, and code search. Repositories can be created via the Codebase tab or selectively imported from GitHub, with synchronized projects updating in real time in both directions.
Origin is integrated directly into the Cursor editor, so working with pull requests does not require switching to another interface. Since code, merge requests, and AI agents are all gathered in one place, users can ask questions about repository contents, make changes, or create new branches directly from the agent chat.
Integrations with Vercel, Depot, Buildkite, and existing GitHub Actions-based workflows have also been launched.
