AWS introduced a universal AI assistant called Quick for the desktop
Amazon Web Services announced the launch of Amazon Quick, a desktop AI assistant that works with user files, connects to corporate services, and adapts to work tasks. The new application is available in desktop format and is positioned as a universal productivity tool.
Amazon Quick integrates with calendars, email, and popular workplace services, including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoom, and Salesforce. The assistant also supports tools such as Slack, Outlook, Gmail, Jira, and Asana, consolidating data from various sources into a single interface.
Unlike most AI services that only respond to user queries, Quick operates in the background and proactively offers information and actions. It accesses local files, indexes documents, and builds a personal knowledge base by remembering workflows, contacts, and user preferences. This enables the system to provide increasingly accurate and personalized responses over time.
Using the AI assistant, users can create presentations, documents, and images, as well as build interactive dashboards and simple applications without programming skills. Quick can execute complex tasks with a single command—for example, gathering data from internal systems, processing it, and inserting the results into the appropriate document.
The company also announced expanded integration with Microsoft applications—Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel—where the assistant will operate directly within the software. AWS emphasizes that user data remains private and is not used to train third-party models, and the solution complies with corporate security and governance requirements.
Amazon positions Quick as the next stage in the evolution of AI in workflows—shifting from reactive tools to proactive systems that help not only perform tasks but also manage them. According to the company, the product is already being adopted by several large organizations, including 3M, BMW, AstraZeneca, and the NFL, where it is used to accelerate analytics and boost employee productivity.
