Atasu Group and the Chinese state-owned logistics operator have established a joint venture to develop Eurasian transport corridors.
The Kazakh transport and logistics group Atasu Group and Xinjiang International Land Port Group, a key state operator of international logistics in China, have signed an agreement to establish a joint venture, Xinjiang Eurasia Interconnect International Logistics Co., Ltd. The deal was made during an official visit by the Kazakh delegation to the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China on March 30–31, 2026.
The Chinese side will hold a 51% stake in the joint venture, while the Kazakh side will hold 49%.
Strategic significance
Xinjiang International Land Port Group is a systemic state operator covering logistics, trade, and supply chain financing. The company manages key infrastructure in Xinjiang, including the Urumqi Multimodal Transport Center, a dry port, cargo terminals, and warehouse complexes.

This partnership strengthens Kazakhstan's position as a bridge in the Belt and Road Initiative. In the future, we anticipate expanded logistics, economic growth, and, importantly, new opportunities for exporting to global markets.
Benefits of the partnership for Kazakhstan
The new joint venture intends to leverage the advantages of the Xinjiang Free Trade Zone to develop transport corridors between China, Central Asia, and Europe. For Kazakhstan, this means:
— expansion of the network of modern warehouse and logistics facilities within the country
— access to advanced infrastructure and technologies from the Chinese partner
— integration into global supply chains and reduction of operational costs
— creation of new jobs and growth in export potential.
The project strengthens Kazakhstan's position as a key Eurasian transit hub and aligns with the logic of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Among the technologies employed is the "cross-border e-commerce + TIR" method, which reduces delivery times by 65% through seamless customs clearance. In 2024, Xinjiang International Land Port Group joined the International Road Transport Union (IRU), enhancing the operational capabilities of the joint venture.
