Armenia is enhancing the Firebird AI data center with a backbone fiber-optic network
In Armenia, infrastructure is being developed for one of the largest artificial intelligence projects in the Caucasus.
Team Telecom Armenia will provide the communication and internet infrastructure for the large-scale Firebird AI project. The data center under construction is in the final stages of preparation and, upon launch, will become the largest artificial intelligence center in the region.
To support the complex, the operator will provide a next-generation fiber-optic backbone network with a capacity of up to 1 Tbit/s and the ability for further expansion. Armenia is already connected to international communication channels via four independent routes, meeting global requirements for the construction of large data centers. The infrastructure of Team Telecom Armenia will become a key element linking the future AI platform with the global digital ecosystem.
In the first phase, the Firebird project will utilize over 6,000 Nvidia Blackwell graphics processing units, providing up to 110.6 exaflops of computing power for artificial intelligence tasks. Further significant expansion of the computing infrastructure is planned. The construction of the facility also involves Team Construct, Team Systems, and Team Energy, which are part of the Team group.
Armenia is combining telecommunications infrastructure, energy, and next-generation computing power into a single project, positioning itself to become a regional AI hub.
