Anthropic will combine chat and Cowork features in the Claude interface, integrating tools for creating documents (Claude Docs) and presentations (Claude Slides). The update allows automatically selecting the necessary capabilities and exporting materials to Google Docs, Word, PowerPoint, and PDF. The features will first become available to Pro and Max subscribers, then to Team and Free plans. This is a step in competing with OpenAI for enterprise users.
Anthropic will combine chat and Cowork features in its AI assistant Claude within a single interface. The company is also launching tools for creating documents and presentations.
The Claude Design visual workspace tool will also be integrated into Claude's main interface. According to the company, these changes came after user feedback indicating it was inconvenient to select a separate tool for each task.
After the update, users will no longer need to switch between different features. Claude will automatically determine which capabilities are needed to complete a specific task and utilize them.
Additionally, Anthropic is launching Claude Docs and Claude Slides in beta. They will allow users to create documents, presentations, and visual materials directly within a single conversation with Claude.
Created documents can be exported to Google Docs and Microsoft Word. Presentations can be exported to PowerPoint or PDF.
The update will first become available to subscribers of the Pro and Max plans on the web version, on computers, and on mobile devices. Over the next few weeks, Anthropic will gradually roll out the new features, and later they will become available to Team and Free plan users.
The Claude update comes amid intensifying competition between Anthropic and OpenAI for corporate users and individuals who want to use AI for work tasks without needing to understand programming. In July, OpenAI also combined its chatbot capabilities with the Codex programming tool in ChatGPT Work.
