Four countries of the Organization of Turkic States will create a joint scientific satellite
Presidents of the countries of the Organization of Turkic States participating in the informal summit in Turkistan were briefed on Kazakhstan's key initiatives in the field of the digital economy and technological cooperation in the region.
Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhaslan Madiev, stated that Kazakhstan views artificial intelligence as a strategic direction and is developing a comprehensive ecosystem through infrastructure, personnel training, and the creation of innovative solutions.
The country continues to implement satellite communication services from Starlink and OneWeb. Additionally, the construction of the Trans-Caspian fiber-optic cable is expected to enhance Kazakhstan's transit potential.
One of the important areas is the development of computing power. Following the launch of the region's largest supercomputers in Kazakhstan, the "Data Center Valley" project has started — a hub with a capacity of at least 1 GW, which will become the foundation of a new export-oriented economic model related to AI computing.
Cooperation among the OTS countries is also developing in the space sector. Kazakhstan, together with Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan, is working on the creation of a scientific CubeSat satellite, with its launch scheduled for next year.
Artificial intelligence is also being integrated into the public administration system. Among such solutions are the eGov AI assistant and the AlemGPT platform, which help make government services more intelligent and proactive. Furthermore, Kazakhstan is building a continuous education system — from school projects and TUMO centers to the specialized AI Research University.
The international Alem.ai center is expected to become a magnet for specialists and startups, providing a full cycle — from research to the implementation of ready-made technologies.
Presidents were also presented with projects on the digitalization of the transport and logistics industry. The main tasks of implementing AI in this sector include simplifying processes, reducing costs, and enhancing the transit potential of the countries in the region.
In conclusion, it was noted that OTS countries supported Kazakhstan's initiative to create the Asia-Pacific Center for Digital Solutions. Thanks to the support of partners, a resolution on the establishment of the center in Almaty was adopted at the 82nd session of ESCAP in Bangkok.
