First time in Kazakhstan: How Colvir Camp turns education into a professional community in Central Asia
There are trainings that leave only a mark of “attended” in memory. And there are intensives that change the speed of team work, the quality of configurations, confidence in decisions — and even the language in which specialists from different organizations discuss the same processes. Colvir Camp belongs to the second type. This is an “immersion” format for banks, postal and microfinance organizations that use the Colvir banking system: a little theory, a lot of practice, analysis of real cases, and live exchange of experience that no manual can replace.
This week, Colvir, one of the largest FinTech vendors in Central Asia, is holding Colvir Camp in Almaty for the first time.
The Formation of the Signature Course of the Colvir Training Center
The history of Colvir Camp began in 2020 — with training tailored to the specific requests of individual banks. At that time, the format was extremely practical: quickly close the team’s needs and help solve tasks “here and now.”
Over time, it became clear that banks needed more than just answers to specific questions. They needed internal experts — specialists who understand the logic of the system, confidently configure processes, diagnose the causes of failures, and can train their colleagues.
In 2022, the next step was the off-site Colvir Camp in Batumi, which later became an annual tradition. Many banks began to combine employee training with motivation and reward programs. The course turned into a professional reboot, where the result is measured not only by a certificate, but by the growth of competencies and the quality of work on the ground.
Since 2024, at the request of banks in Turkmenistan, a local format of Colvir Camp has appeared in Ashgabat. Unlike the off-site tradition, training there is conducted in series: in 2025, four intensives took place. Camp has become a scalable format that can be launched in different countries according to client needs, without losing the “signature” methodology — practice, cases, and exchange of experience.

First Colvir Camp Almaty in Kazakhstan
Representatives of Kazakh banks were regular participants in camps in Batumi, however, even more of their colleagues would like to participate in training without business trips and detachment from their main work. In 2025, a tripartite educational memorandum was signed between Nurbank, Caspian University, and Colvir, and on February 23, 2026, within the framework of the agreement, the first Colvir Camp Almaty started.
Azamat Sadyrbaev, Acting Head of the Colvir Training Center
Colvir Camp is an important project for the training center and the entire company, one of the key values of which is the growth of competencies and continuous development — both of its own employees and those of clients. Within the framework of training, we build an environment where specialists from different organizations speak the same language — the language of processes, data, and configurations. In this sense, Colvir Camp Almaty is an investment in a community that accelerates the development of the entire ecosystem. It is particularly valuable that in Almaty, universities are joining banks. This is a rare opportunity to combine academic knowledge and practical banking experience, so that future specialists can see the real infrastructure from the inside.
The composition of participants underscores that this is a gathering point for a professional community — specialists from “KMF,” “Nurbank,” “EABR,” “O!Bank,” as well as Caspian University. Such a mix gives a rare effect: practitioners who are responsible for processes in financial organizations every day are next to an educational environment that knows how to systematize knowledge and ask the right questions.
The Colvir Camp Almaty program is built around the main idea: to stop perceiving the banking system as a set of separate tasks and learn to see it as a living architecture, where everything is connected — data, roles, processes, control, reporting, and the “rules of the game” by which the organization operates. Participants sequentially go through the path from confident orientation in the interface to understanding the architecture of internal mechanisms on which daily banking operations are based.

Vasily Basalai, Lecturer at the Colvir Training Center
The most noticeable thing that Colvir Camp gives is systematization and speed. A person stops “memorizing steps” and begins to understand mechanisms. At this moment, he moves to the level of an expert: he can diagnose the cause and build a solution, not just repeat the algorithm. Training in Almaty is lively and dynamic: questions from practice, analysis of real cases, exchange of approaches between organizations.
Horizontal exchange of experience is one of the key advantages of the camp format. Specialists from different banks, industries, and even countries gain comparisons of approaches, unexpected solutions, healthy competition, and the formation of a professional community of “Colvirists.”
Colvir Camp Almaty is ongoing, but the company already knows that the project will continue and become a tradition. For Kazakhstan, this means that expertise in the key banking platform will grow within the country and will become a common support for teams in Central Asia.
