Vibe coding: creating applications using artificial intelligence
In recent years, significant changes have occurred in the world of programming. Previously, creating an application required hiring an experienced developer or spending several months learning. Now, the situation is different: if you have an idea and can describe it clearly, that's enough—the rest is handled by artificial intelligence, AI. In other words, an ordinary person has become a programmer. This approach is called vibe coding, and it has made programming more accessible than ever before.
Today, we discuss with a Bitrix24 Kazakhstan expert what vibe coding is and what tools are available to create it.
Gulnur Dosbol, Bitrix24 Kazakhstan Expert
What is vibe coding?
Vibe coding is a method of building applications through dialogue with AI. In this approach, the developer does not write code manually; instead, they describe the task in text form. Based on this description, the AI automatically generates the ready-to-use code.
The main difference from traditional programming is that you don’t need to specify how something should be built—only what the result should look like. For example, if you write, “I need a form with a date and time picker and a confirmation button,” the AI decides how to implement it. This does not require mandatory knowledge of technologies such as SQL, HTML, or React.
The term was introduced by Andrej Karpathy in 2025. Within a short time, it gained widespread popularity and was even recognized by Collins English Dictionary as the “Word of the Year.”
What problems does it solve?
The main advantage of vibe coding is its versatility. It can be used for tasks ranging from simple to complex systems.
At a basic level:
— Creating landing pages, calculators, and Telegram bots within a few hours
— Rapidly testing ideas: determining whether there is demand for a product
— Prototyping interfaces and sharing them with the team
— Automating routine tasks
— Collecting competitor data
— Automatically generating reports
— Reducing time spent on repetitive daily tasks.
For example, a marketer who previously spent several hours collecting data from various advertising systems can now create an automated dashboard via API using vibe coding, reducing report preparation time to just 15 minutes.
At a complex level:
— Building internal business tools: CRM systems, analytics platforms
— Developing MVPs (Minimum Viable Products)
— Integrating APIs from various services
— Automating business processes.
For instance, a fitness studio owner can build a website with an online booking system within a week, offering convenient services to clients.
What tools are used?
There are many tools for vibe coding. Among the most popular are AI-based systems:
— Cursor — Code editing with AI assistance. It allows writing, correcting, and analyzing code using natural language.
— Replit — A full-fledged development platform, a complete development environment that works in the browser. It covers the entire process from idea to finished product.
— Lovable — A design-focused tool for creating visually appealing web applications.
— Bolt.new — For rapid prototyping and quick idea validation.
— v0 by Vercel — Generation of UI components.
— Windsurf — Designed for large projects, focused on complex enterprise systems.
— Claude Code — This tool is designed to solve logically complex tasks.
— Manus — An AI agent that not only writes code but also executes the entire process itself.
— Base44 — Designed for users without technical expertise.
— Emergent — Creates full applications using multiple AI agents.
How to choose the right tool?
First, assess your technical level. If you are experienced, use Cursor or Claude Code. If you are just starting out, use Base44, Replit, or Lovable.
Consider your budget. Many tools offer free plans, but costs may increase with active usage.
How to build an application?
There are four main stages to building an application via vibe coding:
1. Clarifying the idea — It is necessary to clearly define the target audience, the problem being solved, and the expected result. The more precise the description, the higher the quality of the result.
2. Writing the prompt. A prompt is the task given to the AI. It must be specific, structured, and complete. It is important to specify interface elements, functions, and the technologies to be used.
3. Testing — Code generated by AI is not always flawless. Therefore, it is necessary to check core functions, test error inputs, and perform testing on various devices.
4. Refinement — The system can be improved by describing errors precisely and assigning new tasks to the AI. This process is iterative: check → fix → re-check.
If you encounter difficulties writing prompts, BitrixGPT can help. Although it does not write code for AI assistants, it is very useful during the project planning phase: it helps create technical specifications, describe functionality, and build a work plan. This simplifies preparing prompts for programming.
What are the limitations?
Along with its advantages, vibe coding has limitations.
1. Errors may occur — AI sometimes writes code with bugs or inefficiencies. Therefore, mandatory verification is required.
2. Basic knowledge is needed — Knowledge is not required for simple projects, but understanding the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is important for complex systems.
3. Security issues — AI sometimes overlooks security requirements. Vulnerabilities such as SQL injection or XSS may exist. Therefore, code auditing is necessary for important projects.
Vibe coding is a new direction that is fundamentally changing the way programming is done. It speeds up the development process several times over and makes programming accessible to a wider audience. Now, it is no longer necessary to be a professional developer to turn an idea into reality. However, this is not a fully automated solution. To achieve good results, it is necessary to set clear tasks, perform testing, and have basic technical understanding. When used correctly, vibe coding becomes a powerful tool for startups, entrepreneurs, and developers.
