Prompt for creating a cinematic video of a tsunami using AI

One of the most visually striking formats is an emotional scene featuring lovers with an approaching wave. We have compiled a step-by-step prompt that you can use to create such a video.

Step 1. Create a facial portrait from four angles

First, you need to show the AI what the character’s face looks like from all sides. Without this, the face in the video may change or distort—the AI simply won’t know how the person looks in profile or from a 3/4 angle. To achieve this, create a collage of four facial angles in a single image.

Copy and use the prompt:

«A clean 2x2 grid collage showing the same person from the provided reference image.

Four angles in one image: front view (looking directly into camera), 3/4 view facing left, 3/4 view facing right, full side profile.

Framing: head portrait (full head visible), including the entire face, forehead, chin, and sides of the head, with a small margin of space around the head. No parts of the head are cropped.

Each frame is evenly spaced and aligned in a square 2x2 collage layout.

The person must remain identical in all four views: same facial structure, proportions, skin texture, and expression. Neutral facial expression, relaxed face. Background: plain white or soft neutral studio background. Lighting: soft, even studio lighting, identical across all four frames. Camera: 85mm portrait lens, eye-level angle, no distortion. Ultra-realistic skin texture, natural details, no smoothing, no face warping. No cropping, no zoomed-in close-up, no parts of the head cut off. Strict identity consistency across all four angles.»

Step 2. Create a full character turnaround

Now, you need to show the AI what the entire character looks like—height, clothing, body proportions—from all sides. This is called a character turnaround sheet. The AI will use this reference during video generation to ensure the character remains consistent in every frame.

Copy and use the prompt:

«Use the provided images as a strict identity reference for the same person and preserve the exact likeness, including face, body, proportions, skin, and hair exactly as in the reference, with no changes, no stylization, and no beautification.

Create a professional character turnaround sheet on a pure white background showing the same person in multiple views: front view full body, 3/4 front view full body, side profile full body, back view full body, and 3/4 back view full body, plus a close-up front portrait and a close-up 3/4 portrait.

All full body views must show the entire body from head to feet with the feet fully visible, no cropping, no cut legs, no framing above ankles, and consistent scale across all views. The person must remain identical in every view with no identity drift or variation, maintaining the same body type, proportions, gender, clothing, and hairstyle exactly as in the reference image.

The subject stands in a neutral pose with relaxed posture and a neutral facial expression. Use a straight eye-level camera with minimal perspective distortion, centered composition, and consistent framing. Lighting is clean soft studio lighting with even exposure, no harsh shadows, no color tint, and a seamless pure white background. The result must be ultra photorealistic with visible skin texture, pores, and natural imperfections, with no smoothing, no plastic look, no artifacts, and no extra elements, resembling a professional casting model sheet.»

Step 3. Generate cinematic video with a tsunami

Done—the AI now has complete information about the character. Upload the references from steps one and two into the video generation tool and insert the final prompt.

Copy and use the prompt:

«A cinematic emotional scene on a dark stormy ocean cliff. Use the uploaded characters as the ONLY subjects. Strict identity consistency. No face or outfit changes.

Single continuous shot at the beginning. No cuts. No rotation. No angle changes. Camera framing: medium shot (waist-up), both characters visible. Camera movement: slow subtle push-in (beginning), smooth cinematic pullback (final moment only).

Environment: a high rocky cliff above a violent ocean during a storm — heavy dark clouds, cold blue-gray tones, strong wind (hair and clothes whipping aggressively), low-key dramatic lighting, rough ocean in the background.

Phase 1 (0–5s) — Intense Argument: they are actively arguing — raised voices, sharp gestures, stepping toward each other, emotional tension is high.

Phase 2 (5–7s) — Interruption: a small glowing object appears far behind them in the sky. They notice it mid-argument, abruptly stop talking, turn their heads toward it (no body turn). Camera stays fixed.

Phase 3 (7–9s) — Fall: the object rapidly falls toward the ocean in the far distance. Wind intensifies. They watch silently.

Phase 4 (9–11s) — Impact: the object hits the ocean far away. A massive vertical water explosion erupts — huge splash column rising upward, wide circular shockwave on the water surface, heavy water spray and mist spreading outward. Sound arrives slightly delayed. Camera does not change.

Phase 5 (11–13s) — Wave Build: a massive wave begins forming from the impact point — the wave grows rapidly, surface turbulence increases, wind becomes violent, mist fills the air. The wave clearly travels toward the cliff. They instinctively move closer to each other.

Phase 6 (13–15s) — Emotional Climax: they look at each other — no smiles, only realization and fear. They step closer quickly, he pulls her toward him, she grabs him tightly, they hold each other for a brief moment. Then they kiss — intense, urgent, emotional. The camera smoothly pulls back revealing the full scale of the wave behind them. The massive wave crashes forward and completely engulfs them.

Style: ARRI Alexa Mini LF, 50mm cinematic lens, photorealistic, natural skin texture, realistic water physics.

Audio: strong wind, aggressive ocean waves, overlapping argument voices, sudden silence, distant impact explosion, water blast and spray, massive wave crash.

Constraints: no cuts, no camera angle change except final pullback, no rotation, no morphing, no identity change, no unrealistic physics.»

Background music for the video: Harry Styles - Sign of the Times.
