In Armenia, major companies are actively developing cooperation: NVIDIA, OpenAI, Microsoft, AWS, Synopsys, AMD, Microchip Technology, Oracle, and IBM. Projects include the launch of an AI factory with 70,000 GPUs (NVIDIA), access to ChatGPT Edu for 50,000 users (OpenAI), and the implementation of Microsoft 365. Initiatives are also being carried out in cloud technologies (AWS, Oracle), engineering education (Synopsys, AMD, Microchip), and the development of corporate AI (IBM).
Projects in the fields of artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, microelectronics, and engineering education are particularly notable. Below are 10 major international companies that are already working with Armenia or developing cooperation with the country.
NVIDIA
In August 2026, NVIDIA and AI company Firebird officially launched a large-scale AI factory in Armenia. The infrastructure is built on NVIDIA accelerated computing and Dell Technologies equipment. The project involves the phased deployment of NVIDIA Blackwell and Vera Rubin platforms, and the total number of GPUs across the three phases may exceed 70,000. The AI factory is intended to provide computing power for training and deploying AI models, scientific research, and the development of new technological products. This is particularly important for Armenia in the context of the country's plans to become a regional center for AI infrastructure.
OpenAI
In May 2026, OpenAI announced a partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia and Firebird. Under the program, 50,000 students, teachers, and researchers will gain access to ChatGPT Edu and Codex. The initiative also includes teacher training programs and support for the research community. Firebird Labs holds particular significance for the technological ecosystem. The platform focuses on creating technology companies in the fields of AI, robotics, physical AI, aerospace technologies, and life sciences.
Microsoft
Microsoft has been cooperating with Armenia for nearly two decades. The first agreement on cooperation in the field of information technology was signed as early as 2007.
With Microsoft's support, a Microsoft Innovation Center was created in the country, which was engaged in specialist training, conducting educational programs, and supporting IT companies. Microsoft also participated in the development of IT education at the National Polytechnic University of Armenia.
Cooperation continues today. In 2026, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia signed an agreement with Microsoft on the implementation of Microsoft 365. The pilot project is aimed at the digital transformation of public administration, enhancing information security, and creating a modern digital environment.
Amazon Web Services
In 2023, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia and AWS signed a memorandum of understanding. It provides for the modernization of the country's technological infrastructure and the acceleration of cloud technology implementation in the public and private sectors. The document also includes educational initiatives.
In 2024, AWS, together with USAID and the Government of Armenia, launched a separate $5 million initiative to develop digital transformation and the resilience of state institutions. AWS also provides expertise in cloud technologies and cybersecurity.
In February 2026, the parties agreed to expand cooperation in the fields of AI and telecommunications technologies.
Synopsys
The company has been operating in the country since 2004 and actively invests in engineering education and cooperates with local universities. In 2024, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia and Synopsys agreed to expand cooperation in the field of engineering educational programs.
The connection with AI and robotics here goes through microelectronics: Synopsys develops technologies used for designing chips required for modern AI systems, autonomous devices, and robots.
AMD
In June 2025, the Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia met with a delegation from AMD led by the company's Corporate Vice President. The parties discussed the development of the technological ecosystem and the possibility of expanding cooperation.
AMD is also developing its engineering direction in Armenia. In November 2025, company representatives discussed with the Embassy of Armenia in the US the possibilities of expanding operations in the country. Particular attention was paid to the participation of AMD specialists in realizing the potential of the agreement between Armenia and the US in the fields of AI and semiconductors.
For AI and robotics, AMD is particularly important as a manufacturer of CPUs and GPUs used for high-performance computing and AI systems.
Microchip Technology
Microchip Technology is expanding its work in Armenia in the field of FPGA development and other semiconductor products.
The company received in June 2026 a special US license that allows the Armenian division to use advanced technologies for FPGA development. Microchip calls the Armenian office an important part of its global engineering operations.
The company is present in several cities in Armenia simultaneously—Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, and Ijevan. Teams are engaged in digital design, verification, software development, and engineering tasks.
FPGAs are used in industrial automation, AI/ML, automotive systems, the aerospace industry, and embedded computing, so the development of this direction is directly related to future AI and robotics solutions.
Oracle
Oracle has been cooperating with Armenia since at least 2013, when the country's government and the company signed a memorandum of understanding. The agreement provided for the development of IT skills through Oracle educational programs, the expansion of the use of the company's solutions in government bodies, and the creation of a center of excellence in Armenia.
Cooperation continues through Armenian businesses. In 2025, the telecommunications company Viva announced a partnership with Oracle and the beginning of providing the company's cloud and technological solutions to Armenian businesses.
In 2026, Oracle also entered into a strategic partnership with IDBank to develop digital banking services, data processing, and cybersecurity.
IBM
IBM has been cooperating with Armenia in the field of high technologies for over ten years. One of the results of the partnership was the Innovative Solutions and Technologies Center, created with the participation of IBM, the Government of Armenia, USAID, and Yerevan State University. The center provides Armenian universities and technology companies with access to IBM educational programs, equipment, and expertise. In 2026, IBM continues to develop technologies that are significant for the Armenian AI ecosystem. The company is expanding solutions for enterprise AI, agentic systems, and hybrid cloud infrastructure. At the Think 2026 conference, IBM presented new tools for creating and managing AI agents, AI-ready infrastructure, and IBM Sovereign Core for working with AI in regulated environments.
