Best games of June 2026: the main releases of the month
After several busy months, June became a time to catch your breath. There are fewer major releases than usual, but the month offers a diverse selection of new titles and early access projects across various genres. Let’s take a look at the best game releases of June 2026.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth — Switch 2
The Switch 2 port of Final Fantasy 7 Remake last year turned out better than expected, and now Square Enix is bringing the sequel to Nintendo's hybrid console. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the expansive middle chapter of the remake trilogy, significantly expanding on the events of the first game and giving players the freedom to explore the world on their way to the fateful encounter at the Temple of the Ancients.
The 7th Guest Remake — PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S
The 7th Guest was a revolutionary game in the CD-ROM era—and decades later, it has received a remake. The remake was originally developed exclusively for VR headsets. Now, it is finally coming to major platforms. Players return to the mansion of the villainous toy maker Henry Stauf to solve puzzles, communicate with the dead via FMV, and engage in paranormal investigation.
Gothic 1 Remake — PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One
Twenty-five years after the original, the cult RPG returns to PC and consoles as a full remake. Developers have preserved the signature sense of exploration and progression, adding a revamped combat system, expanded quests, and modern visuals. The game still unfolds in a dark and brutal world.
NBA: The Run — PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S
Basketball returns to the streets. NBA: The Run abandons the large arena format and places the player in urban neighborhoods—featuring a 3v3 format, arcade-style gameplay, and stylized graphics. The game is smaller in scale than the NBA 2K series but significantly more affordable: $30 for the standard edition and $40 for the deluxe version with additional DLC.
Voidling Bound — PC, Early Access
Many games have tried to claim the Pokémon throne in the creature-collecting genre—and Voidling Bound has the best chance of doing so. The action takes place in a sci-fi universe overrun by forces of Defeat.
The last hope for humanity lies with the Voidlings, friendly creatures capable of evolving and mutating into powerful forms. The game is being developed by veterans of the Skylanders series: players collect, crossbreed, and customize their creatures. A demo is already available on Steam.
Spacecraft — PC, Early Access
An online space exploration game from studio Shiro Games. Developers promise a living universe: an entire galaxy to explore, planets to fortify, and trade routes to establish.
Early access already includes plenty of content—creating your own corporation, large-scale multiplayer operations, and 20 sectors to explore.
Denshattack — PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2
One of the most anticipated releases of the month. Denshattack is a rail shooter set in a colorful Japanese dystopia. Imagine a speeding train infused with the DNA of Tony Hawk Pro Skater and anime—and you'll get the idea of this fast-paced and demanding game. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will get access on release day.
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales — PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2
The long-awaited new game from the creators of Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default. The project uses the HD-2D visual style that has become the signature look of recent Square Enix RPGs. Adventurer Elliot and his fairy companion Fay embark on a mission spanning a thousand years. The combat system combines turn-based mechanics with dynamic strategies, and the main goal is to uncover the secret history of the world.
EA Sports UFC 6 — PS5, Xbox Series X|S
The latest installment in EA's long-running MMA fighting series. Developers promise a deeper gameplay experience compared to previous entries: a fully revamped ragdoll physics system, authentic fighter movement, and new modes—Hall of Legends and The Legacy.
Star Fox — Switch 2
This is the fourth release of Star Fox 64—following the original on N64, the 3DS version, and the Wii U remake. The Switch 2 version preserves the spirit of the original, adding a full graphical upgrade, extended cutscenes, professional voice acting, and new modes to enhance replayability.
