LinkedIn as a Powerful Tool for Professionals 2.0: 5 Advanced Techniques from Azizbek Kurbonov
A year and a half ago, I wrote an article about the effective use of LinkedIn for founders. During this period, the number of my subscribers grew by more than 200%. This metric is not the most critical, but it numerically reflects the effectiveness of my recommendations.

Additionally, I have noticed new methods for increasing reach and influence in the industry. The points below reflect not only my experience but also my observations of Top Voices in various categories.

1. Don’t chase likes and comments
LinkedIn algorithms analyze the meaning of your posts and identify your audience among platform users. For example, there are authors who write on niche topics and do not receive many likes, comments, or other reactions. However, the result is still impressive: LinkedIn recognizes the author’s narrow specialization and recommends that “the right” people connect with them.
Pay attention to author Sam Boboev — he has over 80,000 followers and writes on highly specialized topics in the payments sector. I know him personally: for several years, he has been publishing content almost daily on very specific topics, which has earned him significant authority among industry leaders. He focused not on audience reactions but on steady growth of his target audience.
2. Cross-posting as an additional touchpoint with the audience
There is so much information noise nowadays that the audience does not always respond to content the first time. This reduces your media influence.
Therefore, I started a blog on Substack, where I publish articles on the same topics but with a fresh presentation. It is not necessary to include links to other profiles. The main goal is to increase the number of touchpoints with the audience and present yourself from different angles.
Additionally, I run a Telegram channel with 1,800 subscribers. Through personal communication with them, I realized that multiple touchpoints are effective. At the same time, the audience gets the impression that they are reading one cohesive channel. In other words, people gradually piece together your image from various sources and ultimately form a complete picture.
3. Encourage the audience to tag you in their posts
Guest lectures or speaking engagements at events can significantly increase the influx of new audience members. However, to achieve this, you need to provide the audience with “meat” — information that captures their attention and prompts them to think.
In the last 25 days, I visited all regions of my country and personally met with 2,500 aspiring founders. After seminars and lectures, at least 50 people tagged me in their posts with words of gratitude.
Reputation is built on your promises and results.
4. Stand out from the format
Most LinkedIn authors now write primarily using LLMs. As a result, posts have become uniform — “smart,” structured, and soulless. Authors with a distinctive voice stand out from the crowd. One method to attract attention is to write posts as if you are telling a story to a friend.
5. Capture the audience visually
Images and videos reach at least twice as many people as plain text. Social media has conditioned people to a certain format of interacting with information: we are accustomed to receiving it through infographics and videos. LinkedIn is no exception.
My practice has shown that posts featuring my photo yield the best results.
LinkedIn is just one of many channels for communicating with your audience. However, by integrating it properly into your professional life, you can significantly increase your influence in the industry.
But before you start, ask yourself: what is my superpower, and what results do I expect from communicating with the outside world through platforms like LinkedIn?
