The main news of the venture market in Central Asia — April 2026
This month has been an active period for the venture ecosystem in Central Eurasia. Regional funds have intensified their investment activities, launched new financing mechanisms, supported startups in the field of artificial intelligence, and developed educational and partnership initiatives. Let’s look at the most significant ones.
IT Park Ventures
The main event of the month for the fund was the signing of an agreement to create a joint venture fund with the Kazakh company White Hill Capital. The document was signed on April 11 in Bukhara during a working visit by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The target size of the new fund is up to $2 million. The fund will focus on startups from Central Asia, the regional diaspora, and international founders with a focus on Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
Big Sky Capital
In April, Big Sky Capital signed a tripartite memorandum with Astana Hub and IT Park Uzbekistan to launch an international technology hub in Malaysia. The hub will serve as a platform for B2B startups from Central Asia to enter the markets of Southeast Asia — Malaysia, Singapore, and other countries in the region.
MOST Ventures
At the CEVF 2026 venue, MOST Holding signed a memorandum of cooperation with United Ventures. Areas of cooperation include joint investments in Central Asian startups with a focus on Uzbekistan, the launch of a business angel school, and knowledge exchange. Concurrently, MOST, together with SQB Ventures, announced the launch of the second batch of the Investment Readiness Accelerator Tashkent accelerator — a program for startups at the Pre-Seed and Seed stages.
Sarmo Ventures
The fund made its public debut with a specific deal: at the end of April, it was announced that the fund invested $100,000 in OpenSpot, an AI platform for parking management. The startup's valuation was approximately $6 million. OpenSpot plans to use the raised funds to scale in Central Asia and the US, aiming to grow its ARR from $500,000 to $3 million by 2027. Previously, the startup completed the first cohort of the IRA accelerator by MOST C-Space Hub and SQB Ventures.
AloqaVentures
The fund received the CEVF Awards 2026 award in the "Best Venture Fund" category — a recognition of the role of Aloqabank's corporate venture arm in developing the Uzbek ecosystem.
MA7 Ventures
Da Kunanbayeva, partner at LP MA7 Ventures and Most Accelerator Fund, received the title of "Most Active Business Angel" following the CEVF Awards 2026.
INMerge Ventures
On April 25, it was announced that the fund invested in the Azerbaijani startup Clopos, a developer of a cloud-based POS platform for the HoReCa sector. The deal amount was not disclosed. Clopos operates in 12 countries and serves more than 4,500 restaurants; the funds will be used for product development, team expansion, and regional growth. This is not the first round for the startup — previously, Clopos raised $800,000 from Caucasus Ventures, Next Business Angels, SABAH.fund, SABAH.angels, and White Hill Capital.
Plug and Play Yerevan
On April 17, the third batch of the international accelerator program Plug and Play officially launched in Yerevan, supported by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia. Eighteen startups were selected for the three-month pre-acceleration phase: Bleenk, Empy.ai, Salute AI, LexAI, AgenticFi, BeeSync, SafeGround Technologies, and others. Since the partnership launched in 2024, approximately 40 startups have gone through the program. Plug and Play Yerevan was registered as a legal entity in November 2025; the total cost of the three-year program is $4 million.
Firstpoint VC
In April, it announced the launch of a new venture fund, Firstpoint VC, with a target size of €50 million — focusing on AI startups in the gaming and entertainment industry. The geography covers Turkey, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, and Central Asia. The fund is led by two general partners: Burak Yilmaz and Mike Fisher. The Advisory Board includes Jen MacLean, Luke Dicken, and Bora Kodzigit.
