Claude Academy: free training from Anthropic — what courses are available and how to get a certificate
Anthropic launched Claude Academy — a free educational platform offering courses on working with artificial intelligence and Claude. Let's explore what courses are available, who the platform is suitable for, and how to earn a certificate upon completion of the training.

Claude Academy — an educational project by Anthropic on the Skilljar platform, offering structured courses with videos, assignments, and tests. The program includes the AI Fluency course (created in collaboration with professors Joseph Feller and Rick Ducken) and specialized modules on products: Claude.ai, Cowork, Code, Tag, and Platform. Materials are available for free without registration; however, registration via email is required to save progress and receive certificates.
What is Claude Academy
Claude Academy is an educational project by Anthropic on the Skilljar platform. Unlike documentation, which explains how a feature works, Academy builds complete curricula from this — with video lectures, practical assignments, and a final test for each course.
Materials are divided by level of preparation — from basic familiarity with AI principles to advanced use of Claude for development, task automation, and creating AI agents. We have already discussed how to use Claude for work tasks — Academy provides a more structured path to those same skills.
AI Fluency Course — the foundation of the program
The core of the platform is the AI Fluency course, developed by Anthropic in collaboration with Professor Joseph Feller from University College Cork and Professor Rick Dakan from Ringling College. The program is built around the "four Ds" structure:
— Delegation — which tasks should be delegated to AI and which should not
— Description — how to formulate requests
— Discernment — how to evaluate and verify results
— Diligence — how to use AI responsibly and safely.
The course has separate versions for teachers, students, and non-profit organizations — with adapted examples for each specific audience.
Courses on Claude products
A separate block is dedicated to Anthropic products. Each course focuses on one tool:
— Claude.ai — working with the dialogue assistant, composing documents, analyzing data
— Claude Cowork — delegating entire tasks and receiving ready-made results
— Claude Code — development, debugging, and running projects via terminal, IDE, and browser. We have detailed how Claude Code changed the rules of development in a year — the Academy course provides a practical foundation for those just starting
— Claude Tag — team collaboration with Claude in shared channels
— Claude Platform — integrating Claude into your own products via API, Claude Console, and MCP.
For developers working with corporate infrastructure, courses on deploying Claude on AWS and Google Cloud are also available.
How to get a certificate
Each course ends with a final test. After successfully completing it, the user receives a certificate from Anthropic — it can be added to a LinkedIn profile or included in a resume. There are no limits on the number of completed courses and obtained certificates.
How much does it cost and is registration required
Most materials can be studied for free without registration. To save progress and receive a certificate, you need to register with an email address — no subscription or payment is required.
For beginner users, Anthropic recommends starting with the Claude 101 course; for developers — with Claude Code 101 or Claude Platform 101, depending on the tasks.
