10 programmers from Uzbekistan who work in dream companies
Engineers from Uzbekistan today write code for TikTok and Dropbox, build infrastructure at Google and Amazon, lead teams at AWS — and at the same time, they return knowledge to their homeland by creating platforms and communities for the next generation. This is not a coincidence or luck — it is the result of the perseverance of people who decided not to wait for opportunities, but to create them themselves.
Dakhonbek Mamat Aliyev
Senior iOS Engineer at TikTok and co-founder of the archly.dev platform. He started his career at EPAM, then moved to Uber Eats, where his work generated $73 million in annual revenue for the company. Today, at TikTok, he is responsible for the quality of the entire iOS codebase and became the first American employee on the mobile architecture team. In parallel, he helps other engineers get into FAANG-level companies — his graduates receive offers ranging from $300,000 to $500,000 per year from Apple, Meta, Stripe, and Airbnb.
Azim Pulat
Backend engineer with experience at Meta, Amazon, and Google, and currently the founder of the educational project 42.uz. He worked on Alexa infrastructure at Amazon, then moved to Google, where he focused on optimizing Kubernetes clusters in GKE. He studied at several universities in Warsaw, managing to balance work and studies simultaneously. He left Google to build what he believes in — accessible IT education for the Uzbek audience.
Bek Akilov
Software Engineer at Amazon Web Services. He studied at Kalamazoo College in Michigan, where he concurrently taught discrete mathematics. Before joining AWS, he worked as an engineer at NeetCode, one of the most popular platforms for technical interview preparation. The founder of NeetCode personally noted his ability to lead projects from design to release and build complex systems — including a code execution engine — without compromising quality or speed.
Rustam Zokirov
Software engineer at Google in Munich. After graduating from university in Uzbekistan in 2023, he moved to Germany, where he continued his career in the technology sector. He runs a blog about programming and IT careers, sharing materials on software development, preparation for interviews at major tech companies, career growth in Big Tech, as well as financial literacy and investments.
Jahongir Rahmonov
Senior Software Engineer at NVIDIA, working in Berlin. He specializes in building scalable distributed backend systems and infrastructure, with a particular focus on performance and modern technologies such as Rust and Kubernetes. Throughout his career, he has worked at Amazon Web Services, where he handled access control systems and large-scale distributed services, as well as at Anaconda and Delivery Hero, developing backend services, cloud solutions, and data processing platforms.
Otabek Nurmuhammad
Software engineer working with distributed backend systems, infrastructure, and AI/ML technologies. Currently, he works at Dropbox. Throughout his career, he has been involved in developing scalable systems, as well as products related to backend architecture and infrastructure. In addition to his main job, he develops his own projects, including productivity tools and educational materials on system design and technical interview preparation.
Sherzod Muratov
Staff Software Engineer at eBay. He develops scalable web services and enterprise applications, primarily in the e-commerce sector. In his work, he participates in the full development cycle — from design to release — collaborating with cross-functional teams. His main tech stack and experience involve Java, web technologies, and databases, as well as creating large-scale distributed systems for high-load products.
Nodir Nazarov
Software Engineer at Google. He has over 10 years of experience in the industry, having previously worked at major technology companies, including Oracle and eBay. His specialization is the development of scalable backend systems and enterprise applications using Java and the Spring ecosystem. He has strong expertise in algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented design, as well as experience working with databases, CI/CD tools, and automation systems.
Ogabek Yuldashov
Software Engineer at Microsoft with approximately nine years of experience in developing scalable distributed systems and full-stack applications. His specialization includes Microsoft Azure cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and working with high-load systems. In his work, he uses a wide range of technologies, including Java, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, Node.js, as well as SQL and NoSQL databases. He participates in the design and development of complex systems using modern approaches such as Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and cloud platforms AWS, GCP, and Azure.
Azizullo Temirov
Datacom engineer at Huawei, a graduate of Inha University. He works with AI, telecom, and corporate network solutions. In parallel, he is an active participant in international competitions. In addition to work and hackathons, Azizullo builds his own projects — Notable.uz, a map of the Uzbek diaspora, and ULAN, a platform connecting brands with bloggers.
