Projects with persistent memory

Claude has a Projects feature — separate workspaces for each task. Once you create a project, you upload the necessary documents and set up instructions once. After that, every new chat within the project starts with full context — Claude already knows who you are, what you do, and how to work with you. There is no need to explain the same things over and over again.

Three levels of customization

Claude supports three layers of personalization that work simultaneously.
1. Global preferences in profile settings, which apply to all conversations.
2. Instructions within a specific project.
3. Communication style for an individual chat.
The better all three levels are configured, the less time is spent on repetitive explanations.

Importing memory from other AI models

If you have been working with ChatGPT or Gemini for a long time and have accumulated your preferences there — you won't have to start from scratch. Claude allows you to transfer all settings and habits from other AI models directly through Settings — Capabilities — Memory Import. This is one of the least known features of the platform.

Extended Thinking mode

For complex tasks, Claude offers an extended thinking mode. Instead of immediately providing an answer, Claude first goes through several stages: breaking down the problem, considering different solution options, and checking its own assumptions. This mode is especially useful for strategic planning, complex analysis, and tasks with many variables. It can be enabled via the toggle in the model selection menu.

Custom writing style

Claude can write in your style — not in an abstract "business" or "informal" tone, but exactly in yours. To do this, simply upload several of your texts to the Styles section. Claude will study your manner, vocabulary, and sentence structure — and reproduce them in every new text. The first draft will immediately sound like your voice.

Deep Research

The deep research mode is not a regular internet search. Claude independently builds a search strategy, conducts multiple rounds, compares data from different sources, and ultimately provides a structured report with links. Essentially, this is a full-fledged analyst that takes the research process into its own hands. It is available through the model selection menu.

Analysis of screenshots and images

Claude processes not only text but also visual information. You can upload a screenshot of a website, interface, table, or document and ask Claude to analyze it: find errors, suggest improvements, or decode data. No additional explanations are needed — Claude sees the same thing you do.

Creating real files

Claude can create complete files — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF — which can be downloaded immediately. These are not just manually copied formatted text, but actual documents ready for use. Simply ask: "Create a presentation" or "Make a table."

Incognito mode

Conversations in incognito mode are not saved in Claude's memory and are not used to train the model. Everything written in such a chat disappears after the session ends. This is convenient when you need to discuss something confidential without the risk of data remaining in the system. The mode is enabled when creating a new chat.

Claude in Chrome extension

With the Claude in Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store, Claude becomes a full-fledged browser agent. It can independently navigate pages, extract necessary information, fill out forms, and interact with websites — all right in front of you. This is especially useful in combination with Claude Code for those involved in development and testing.
